Accessibility at Gladeo
We are committed to making the AI Career-Connected Lesson Builder usable by educators and staff of all abilities.
Our conformance target
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, and to the requirements of Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act. Accessibility is an ongoing effort: we audit and improve the product continuously, and a formal screen-reader validation pass is currently underway.
What we've done
- Semantic page structure with headings, landmarks, and lists.
- A visible label on every form control, plus supporting instructions.
- A clear, high-contrast keyboard focus indicator on all interactive elements.
- Full keyboard operation, including menus and dialogs (with Escape to close).
- Screen-reader announcements for status and error messages (lesson generation, section updates, saving, and errors).
- Respect for the operating-system “reduce motion” setting.
- A declared page language and captioned career videos.
- Interface colors reviewed against the AA contrast minimum.
Known limitations
We are transparent about what is still in progress:
- A dedicated “skip to content” link is not yet provided; each page exposes a single main content region for landmark navigation.
- Spanish-language delivery, with the corresponding per-language markup, is on our roadmap.
- A final independent screen-reader validation pass is scheduled.
Give us feedback
If you encounter an accessibility barrier, please tell us. Email info@gladeo.org with “Accessibility Support” in the subject line. Please include the page, a description of the problem, and the assistive technology you were using. We aim to respond within three business days.
